If you know anything about me, you will know that one of my soapboxes is on the importance of self-care and investing in yourself. There’s a reason that on flights, they tell you to put on your oxygen masks before your kids. I am also always telling people you can’t pour from an empty cup. A few weeks ago, I spent an incredible 27 hours at Miravel focused on my well-being.
Miraval is a Hyatt property and all-inclusive, just outside of Austin ( and amazingly less than 15 minutes from my house ) although it feels like a world away. included in the nightly rate is a resort credit (anywhere between $100-$275 depending on the deals), meals, and a catalog of wellness classes/ physical activities including yoga, hikes, slacklining, meditation and more. Here was my agenda for my 1 day stay.
It is pricy, but let me do some girl math for you:
For a roughly $1200 stay…
I received
-breakfast, 2 lunches, and dinner which at todays prices I will value at $150
-3 smoothies and 2 iced coffees- $40 ( I’m a Starbucks gal so applying their pricing)
-massage -$300
-5 classes let’s say nominally $30 drop in rate- $150
-leap of faith – $50
-valet parking- $40
– one night accommodation- $500 for commensurate property with none of the extras
My lightened load, reconnecting with and old friend, making new ones, checking things off my life list, letting go and living my intentions- priceless. One of my most memorable activities was the leap of faith, where I mentally tested myself by jumping off a 40 ft platform. I harnessed my meditation practice and let myself go- and truly felt powerful and free. Power, love and freedom were some of the emotions that I was manifesting heading into the stay and I know I will be able to tap into that feeling when I’m feeling low.
Hot tip- they do offer day passes, and you can arrive as early as 8 am. But spa services book up early and day pass availability is limited. To all my male readers out there- thank me now and book a stay for your significant other or that mom in your life who is in need! And to all you ladies out there- this is a great girls retreat. I did see some couples there, but I honestly think this is more suited for alone or girl time, but to each their own!
Favorite drink: Chavacado smoothie
Favorite service: Ginger Healer but I need to try more
Favorite activity: Leap of Faith or Happy Hips for this trip
Other notable items:
No gratuities for meals or services so that’s factored into the nightly rate
It’s completely acceptable to walk around in the plush robes. The ones from the spa are better than the ones in the room. We actually went to dinner in our robes one night and it was so relaxing.
The gift shop is full of amazing items for your wellness journey.
Do yourself a favor and book your stay today. I promise, you will leave lighter and with a noticeable glow: Note- opinions are expressly my own, I am not compensated or affiliated with Hyatt in any way- I just love sharing great recommendations.
